You only retire once
Let’s Make it Great
You’ve spent decades working, earning, and planning for retirement. But when those years approach, people are often unsure of how to move forward. At Great Lakes Wealth Advisors, we offer the guidance, support, and services you need to approach your retirement finances with confidence and excitement for the future.
What We Do
Protecting Your Retirement through Experienced Planning
You deserve a retirement that aligns with your dreams, whether that involves peaceful mornings or exciting adventures. Achieving this vision doesn't happen by chance; it requires a well-defined plan and a knowledgeable guide who understands your priorities.
Our focus is on partnering with you to envision what retirement looks like for you and determining the financial steps necessary to reach that goal. We provide education on investment strategies, tailor your plan to match your unique Retirement Income Style Awareness (RISA), and advise on optimal income withdrawal strategies. This allows you to shift your focus from financial concerns to enjoying the retirement you've always envisioned.

Our Process
Reaching Your Retirement Goals
One Step at a Time
Managing your retirement finances doesn’t have to be stressful or complicated. We help make it easier with a planning process that adapts to your needs.
Step 1: Gathering Information
We believe in listening and understanding, so that forms the foundation of our process. We get to know you, your lifestyle goals, your finances, and more to better understand exactly how we can help.
Step 3: Setting Up for Retirement
As you get closer to your retirement years, we’ll help you properly position your assets and start a conversation about when and how to start taking withdrawals from your retirement income sources.
Step 2: Creating a Plan
While we don’t always create a formal financial plan (after all, this is about what you need), we always work to develop a set of recommendations that are the right fit for a client’s circumstances.
Step 4: Guiding into Retirement and Beyond
When you’re ready to retire, we’ll create a retirement income plan that’s unique to you, make any adjustments needed, then continue supporting and guiding you through your retirement years.
Who do you work with?
I work individuals and couples, generally age 45 and over, who are preparing for retirement or already living in retirement.
Most people I work with have done a good job saving but want clarity around how thier money will actually support them in retirement. My role is to help turn uncertainty into a clear, sustainable income plan.
What is your main area of focus?
My primary focus is retirement income planning.
That means helping you understand how your savings, Social Security, investments, and other income sources fit together once work stops. Investment management matters, but retirement income planning is about making sure your money supports your lifestyle for the long run.
When should someone start retirement income planning?
Ideally, retirement income planning should begin several years before retirement, often in your late 40s or 50s.
This is when decisions around savings, risk, taxes, and income timing start to have a much bigger impact. Planning earlier creates more options and helps avoid rushed decisions later.
are you required to act in my best interest?
Yes. I am required to act in your best interest whenever I make a recommendation.
When providing investment advisory services, I act as a fiduciary. For brokerage transactions, Regulation Best Interest (Reg BI) requires recommendations to be in your best interest at the time they are made. In all cases, I will explain options, costs and tradeoffs so you can make an informed decision.
How are you Compensated?
Compensation depends on the type of service or solution that fits your situation, and it is always disclosed up front.
Some relationships are fee-based, and some transactions involve commissions. In every case, recommendations are evaluated through a best-interest lens and aligned with your goals and preferences, not with compensation structure.
How is working with you different from working with a large firm?
You work directly with me, while still benefiting from the resources of a large independent advisor network.
That means a personal relationship, consistent guidance, and accountability, combined with the technology, research, and infrastructure typically associated with much larger firms.
